Parkinson’s disease (PD), also known as tremor palsy, is a common neurodegenerative disease of the middle-aged and elderly. The main lesions are in the substantia nigra and striatum. Tremor, myotonia and reduced movement are the main clinical features of the disease. Parkinson’s disease is the fourth most common neurodegenerative disorder in the elderly.
